31 Days to Finding Your Blogging Mojo Review

One of the cool things about being a blogger is getting free stuff. Yes I said I get free stuff for being a blogger.

Last week I got an advance copy of funny man and blogger Bryan Allain’s new book called 31 Days To Finding Your Blogging Mojo.

My first thought on the book. Why did Bryan have to use the word “Mojo” in his title? I hate the word mojo! It’s nothing personal against Bryan…it’s just the Seattle Mariners theme or tag line has “mojo” in it and I can’t stand them.

After getting over the title and into reading this e-book I instantly knew I needed this book! Here’s why…

I kinda suck at blogging. I mean I think I am better than 90% of bloggers who start a blog and NEVER update it, but I am really not that good at blogging. I post a lot for a while and then fail and don’t post at all. It’s always up and down.

So here’s why I’d buy this book if I was a blogger or wanna be blogger who doesn’t want to suck…

31 Days gives you a quick read everyday for 31 days followed by homework for the day. Generally easy (maybe sometimes hard) assignments everyday to help improve your blog and blogging skills.

Is blogging really a skill? Can you really improve your blogging skills by reading this book? Is it totally worth the $4.99 it costs? YES!

Here’s the other thing…Bryan is funny…that means the book is full of funny too. Ha Ha Laugh Laugh Buy Buy.

Dear…

It’s Monday morning…

Dear I Merge On The Freeway At 45MPH And Want To Kill EVERYONE Around Me…

Dear I Like To Drive At Or Under The Speed Limit In The Fast Lane When I Should Really Be Driving In The Slow Lane Or Even On The Right Shoulder…

Dear I Stop At Green Lights And Almost Kill Chris And Then Give Chris The Finger When He Honks At Me…

Dear I Walk Through The Parking Lot Right Down The Middle Of The Road And Don’t Care To Move Out Of The Way If Any Cars Are Coming…

YOU DRIVE ME CRAZY!

Dear Chris, There aren’t many things that drive you crazy, but the things listed above do. They all happen to deal with driving. Do you have road rage? I don’t think so. Do you need more patience will people? Maybe…maybe…just maybe.

What drives YOU crazy?

Ever Had A Bad Ex?

Have you ever had a bad ex? Have you been a bad ex? I am sure most of us have a story of either having or being a bad ex but how about this? Home girl called her ex boyfriend 65,000 times in one year. Wouldn’t you think about changing your number if that happened? Maybe the dude really liked his number. Anyways, I guess people are kinda crazy.

Community Group

Here’s the questions from last nights Community Group. We have been talking about running from God…like Jonah did.

Why does it often take desperate circumstances for God to really get our attention?

Think about your own story thus far. How has God been behind the circumstances in your life, using them to bring you back to him?

Jonah 2:9 - But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord.

Nathan

My buddy Nathan graduated from Sonoma State and moved to OK at the start of the summer. He was a high school small group leader at InsideOut and I am super bummed that he’s gone but excited to see what the state of Oklahoma has for him. Here’s his story.

What’s your story?

Baseball In Baltimore

Happy Labor Day! In honor of the holiday, lets talk about one of the best parts of America…baseball!

I traveled to Baltimore in May to be in the wedding of one of my best friends Phil. Anytime I am in a city with a baseball stadium I try to make it to a game…so I had to go to Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Camden Yards was the first new stadium to feature the “retro” style and sparked the design of almost every new stadium in the last 20 years. This stadium did not feel like it was almost 20 years old when I was there. It was a great sunny Sunday afternoon before my flight home. I even caught a batting practice ball…high five! Here are a couple pictures…

Here’s a list of stadiums I’ve been to:

Oriole Park at Camden Yards – Baltimore

Oakland Coliseum – Oakland (well over 200 times)

Dodger Stadium – Los Angels

Original Yankee Stadium – New York

Shea Stadium – New York

Fenway Park – Boston

Angel Stadium – Anaheim

Safeco Field – Seattle

AT&T / PacBell / SBC Park – San Francisco

I’ve driven by Coors Field in Denver, Chase Field in Phoenix, Petco Park in San Diego and Turner Field in Atlanta but unfortunately have not got to attend games at any of them…booo!

I also saw the new Yankee Stadium and Citi Field being built in New York…someday I’ll go back! PS Yankees suck!

F-Bomb

Most of us are probably better at using one F-word over the one that we should be using a lot more. Yes I know we are good at the 4 letter F-word but what about the 7 letter F-word? Forgive. I forgive you. That one isn’t as easy to say is it? We are talking about the bigger 7 letter F-Bomb the next two weeks at church and I can’t wait to see how it changes people’s lives!

On that note…have you seen this video? F you all who haven’t!

Who do you need to say F-You to?
